Syncing Senses

The Impact of Visual Art on Audience Engagement with Live Music

In May of 2025, I performed a research recital titled Syncing Senses: The Impact of Visual Art on Audience Engagement with Live Music where, through collaboration, I paired 5 modern keyboard solos with different visual stimuli (like dance, lighting, live art and video). Through QR code-accessed questionnaires, I gathered useful data to better understand the audience's experience.

Since gathering this data, I have been invited to West Virginia to present on the findings and how it can apply to 21st century performers. I have also been invited to the 2026 Michigan Music Conference and the 2026 College Music Society to present a lecture recital on my findings.

In September of 2025, Syncing Senses was invited to perform an interactive workshop at the Joslyn Castle for the NextFoundation's Gala. In this workshop, audience members were invited to participate in the creation of art based on their own interpretations of the live music
